Palace Soestdijk
Paleis Het Loo has a rich horse history. It is in the spirit of the royal tradition where you will find Royal Polo at the Palace. The gardens, stables and restaurants are accessible the entire Polo Weekend for all Polo Teams and visitors. Paleis Het Loo provides an authentic setting, has a unique character which provides an ideal ambiance for Roya Polo! Besides that it is also very practical because we can accommodate most of the horses in the Royal Stables.
Royal Stable Department:
The Stables complex at Paleis Het Loo can accommodate up to 88 horses. Two horses with very long services at the Royal Family are enjoying their retirement at the left-side Stable. Another part of the Stables is still being used by the Royal Stable-department in The Hague.
Renovation & Extension
For the next couple of year the Palace Het Loo will be working on a large scale extension and renovation programme. More than 30 years after the opening of Palace Het Loo as Museum major maintenance is necessary. The major maintenance concerns replacement of the technical equipment, climate installations and asbestos remediation. In parallel with the extensive renovation there will be an underground extension of Palace Het Loo. With this extension there will be more space for exhibitions and public facilities and the extensive collection can be shown in a much better way.
